Donated Painting Auctions for $30,000
Mark created "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire", a painting rich with traditional and patriotic themes, as a tribute to the victims and heroes of 9/11.
The original Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire bears the inscription “God Bless America, George Bush, 41st President, USA”." In 2003, it auctioned for $30,000 at the Annual American Art Classic in Houston, Texas to benefit The Gladney Center of Ft. Worth, a home and adoption agency for girls and women with unplanned pregnancies. Mark borrowed the title for this painting from a book by the same name about the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church in New York which came alive with God's spirit through prayer, confession, and humility. This image – without the Bush inscription – is available in giclee print.
