Stewart in Arts for the Parks Top 100!!
"Room After Room" receives the Judges Award of Merit at the 2005 National Arts for the Parks Competition.
Mark's painting Room After Room received the Judges Award of Merit at the September 17 Annual Awards Gala of the 2005 National Arts for the Parks Competition. The painting will now tour the country with the National Arts for the Parks 2005 Top 100 Exhibition. One of the most prestigious art competitions in the nation, Arts for the Parks was established 20 years ago to focus attention on the beauty of America's national parks. Thousands of artists from all fifty states enter paintings of every size and medium depicting National Park wildlife, water features, rock formations and landscapes.
As an interior scene, Mark' s entry, Room After Room, is something of a departure from most of the Competition images, which are generally landscapes or wildlife. The painting presents a succession of intricately carved interior doors in the Mission Concepcion in San Antonio, Texas.
