| I continued to work on the feel of the walls by going over some of the drybrush work with wet washes of warm and cool colors. I felt that the success of this painting would depend on the contrast between the large foreground door, its rich warmth and detail and the cool shadows and blunt detail of the room. I began that process by placing an initial wash of color for this door.
